the house, the light. the land. seen from above the fields of iowa. the rivers, the woodlands dominate. and the farms. the old farmsteads are part of the land, the land embraces them after humans have abandoned them. trees left standing next to where a house used to, a barn foundation, a windmill. the homes are gone, the people are gone. the land renewed and withstands the continual hard use. our house remains, engulfed by the town. |
